A5 AmendTM is A5design's content management software that allows a user to easily and quickly build and maintain a highly professional web site using Internet Explorer 5.0+ on any PC. It can be easily incorporated into A5design web templates and custom designs . The ease of use allows a user with no working knowledge of HTML (XHTML) to develop a site that appears to be professionally developed and maintained.

A5 AmendTM not only allows a client to instantly update a site, but it also reduces or eliminates hourly costs associated with maintaining a site. Clients using the software have reported savings of more than $30,000/year in such maintenance costs. Some A5design clients that have staff in different locations even use A5 AmendTM as a low-cost, less-secure  form of an intranet.

Note: The majority of A5design's site, in fact, has been constructed and is maintained using A5 AmendTM.

Following is some of the functionality included with the Cold Fusion-based A5 AmendTM 6.1, the latest version of the software:

  • Add and delete menu sections and pages
  • Add and delete text and images
  • Upload images to the web server and place them in content areas
  • Upload and hyperlink Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and PDF documents, which among other file types, that are supported
  • Edit text, such as hyperlinking, bulleting, bolding, italicizing, justifying, copying, cutting, pasting, undoing, and redoing edits
  • Add, edit, and delete extra column on pages other than the homepage to reduce the content area a user needs to supply text and/or images for, or for increasing content layout
  • Edit page titles that dynamically update the menu, whether it's a dropdown JavaScript menu or HTML menu
  • Use predefined content templates for pages below the homepage
  • Show or hide pages in the menu
  • Determine the display order of menu items
  • Redirect pages internally and externally by entering the URL to be redirected to
  • Add, edit, or delete meta keywords, meta descriptions, and page titles for each individual page or have the pages default to the settings for the homepage
  • Set rights for individual pages so they show in the public area, admin area, or admin area only with rights
  • Add, edit, and delete users and their page or section rights (editable or read-only) for the secure area
  • Add, edit, and delete default landing page for the secure area or assign a specific landing page for an individual user
